Job Description- Designing, maintaining, implementing, or improving mechanical instruments, facilities, components, equipment products, or systems for industrial, commercial or domestic purposes.
- Strong experience with machine drive systems, transmission equipment, and rotating machinery (motors, gearboxes, pumps, compressors, diesel engines, belts, chains, bearings, etc.).
- Solid knowledge of hydraulic and pneumatic engineering, lifting/rigging, manual handling, and basic fabrication/welding.
- Proficient in reading engineering drawings/schematics and skilled in using hand and power tools.
- Performing a wide range of engineering tasks by operating computer-assisted design or engineering software and equipment.
- Conferring with customers, engineers, and others to discuss existing or potential engineering products or projects.
- Ensuring that installation and operations conform to standards and customer requirements by preparing electrical systems specifications, technical drawings or topographical maps.
- Establishing construction, manufacturing or installation standards or specifications by performing a wide range of detailed calculations.
- Writing performance requirements for product development or engineering projects.
- Preparing specifications for purchases of electrical equipment and materials.
- Supervising or training project team members as necessary.
The Successful Applicant
A successful Mechanical Engineer should have:
- A degree in Mechanical Engineering or a related field.
- Proficiency in design and visualisations software such as AutoCAD.
- Advanced MS Office skills.
- Familiarity with rules, regulations, best practices and performance standards.
- Ability to work with multiple discipline projects and decision-making skills.
- Project management and supervision skills.
