We need dedicated and enthusiastic Psychology graduates to join specialist schools in the Bridgend area as SEN Teaching Assistants.

This role offers invaluable experience for those aspiring to careers in Educational Psychology, providing the chance to gain paid, hands-on experience in a supportive school environment.

Your Role:

As an SEN Teaching Assistant, you will work closely with teachers to support students with a range of diverse needs, particularly those facing social, emotional, and behavioural challenges. Your responsibilities will include providing one-to-one support, promoting engagement in the classroom, and fostering a positive learning environment.

We are looking for individuals who can commit to a Monday to Friday schedule on an ongoing basis, as consistency is crucial for building strong relationships and supporting student development.

Responsibilities:
  • Provide tailored, hands-on support for students with a variety of SEN, helping to create an inclusive learning environment.
  • Collaborate with SENCOs, teachers, and therapists to implement Individual Education Plans (IEPs).
  • Utilize your psychology background to understand and support the unique learning styles and emotional needs of students.
  • Participate in ongoing professional development to enhance your knowledge and skills in SEN.
Requirements:
  • A Psychology Degree (or equivalent).
  • Experience working with students with SEMH, Autism, or ADHD is advantageous.
  • A strong understanding of SEN support and best practices (desirable but not essential).
