Early Years and Foundation Stage Primary Teacher (Special Educational Needs)

Location: Wakefield, West Yorkshire
Contract Type: Medium to Long-Term, Temporary

Are you a passionate, dedicated, and nurturing teacher with experience or interest in working with children with Special Educational Needs? We are seeking a compassionate and skilled Early Years and Foundation Stage (EYFS) Teacher to join our dynamic team.

Responsibilities:
As an Early Years and Foundation Stage Teacher working with children with special educational needs, your role will include:
  • Planning, preparing, and delivering engaging lessons.
  • Tailoring to the individual needs of each child, ensuring they make progress in all areas of learning and development.
  • Creating a nurturing and inclusive classroom environment that encourages curiosity, independence, and confidence.
  • Developing and maintaining strong relationships with students, parents, and professional colleagues to ensure a comprehensive education for each child.
  • Adapting teaching methods to suit the diverse needs of students, including those with physical, cognitive, emotional challenges and special educational needs.
  • Supporting children with emotional, social, and behavioral needs, providing strategies to promote positive outcomes.
Requirements:
The ideal candidate will have:
  • A recognized teaching qualification (e.g. , PGCE, QTS, or equivalent).
  • Experience or a strong interest in working with children with special educational needs. Knowledge of SEN strategies, including those for communication, social, emotional, and behavioral needs.
  • A good understanding of the Early Years Foundation Stage curriculum and how to adapt it to meet the needs of individual children.
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to work effectively as part of a team.
  • A compassionate, patient, and resilient approach to working with children.
  • An understanding of safeguarding procedures and a commitment to promoting the welfare of children.
