Whatley Campus, Melbury College is a new SEN school and we are proud to support students with autism. We opened in September 2022 and judged as GOOD by Ofsted less than two years after opening. The Role:
We are seeking a motivated and experienced English Teacher to provide maternity cover for 1 term from September 2025. The successful candidate will plan, deliver, and assess English lessons for students across Key Stages 3 and 4. You will play a lead role in coordinating the English curriculum and ensuring the needs of our students, as outlined in their EHCPs, are met through tailored, differentiated teaching.

Candidates should have:
- An excellent teaching record
- Qualified Teacher Status or equivalent qualification
- Experience of the use of restorative practices and effective behaviour management skills as well as good rapport with challenging pupils.
- Ability to monitor and review through self-evaluation, report writing and a clear system of record keeping
- Ability to teach flexibly, innovatively and responsively in a challenging environment
- Evidence of ability to successfully manage and support pupils with SEMH
- The ability to plan and deliver outstanding teaching and learning for both individuals and small groups with high quality outcomes for all pupils
- Dedication to creating a positive and inclusive learning environment
