Financial Accountant

Your new role

You will assist the Head of Financial Accounting with the production of the Annual Report and Accounts (ARA's) for the year ended 31st March 2025.

• Ensuring the financial statements and notes to the accounts in the respective Annual Report and Accounts are produced in accordance with all relevant accounting standards and new standards have been appropriately implemented·
• Ensuring the operation of an appropriate control environment around the financial reporting process and ensuring compliance with relevant internal and wider government policy·
• Ensuring complete and accurate detailed working files including Balance Sheet reconciliations are maintained supporting the financial statements and all disclosures·
• Maintaining a productive relationship with external audit to ensure audit work is performed efficiently and effectively and audit issues are communicated and resolved in a timely manner

• Experience of producing annual accounts
• Working knowledge of current International Accounting Standards
• Proficient user of Excel, and other relevant accounting software packages
• Previous experience of Public Sector accounting and reporting requirements
• Previous experience of Public Sector accounting and reporting requirements

• Flexible working-the team only go into the office 1 day a week (on a Monday)
• 7-month contract starting as soon as February
