GRADE: Dental Nurse Band 5, salary £29,970 – £36,483, depending on experience plus HCA

LOCATION: Variable clinics and sites within Berkshire and Broadmoor Hospital dental clinic

Berkshire Community Dental Serviceis looking to recruit apart/fulltimeseniordentalnurse,working4/5days a week,with aresponsibility forbeingthemedical devices senior dental nurse and senior dental nurse for Broadmoor hospital. This role will be in addition to your clinical duties.

You will be work closely with and be supported by the senior dental officers for medical devicesand the Senior Dental Officer/Dental Officer working at Broadmoor Hospital.

Thesenior dentalnurse willjoin an enthusiastic and skilled workforce witha great teamspirit. The servicehas 7 clinics ranging fromThatchamto Langley and over 40members of staff. The service treats patients withadditionalneeds including children, people with learning and physical disabilities and the elderly.

Your base will be decided uponappointment,butyouwillalso work at other clinics, the hospitals where we undertake general anaesthetic sessionsand in the domiciliary setting. It is therefore essential that you can drive, have a UK driving licence and a car for travel between clinics and hospitals.

  • Booking of patients that are seen in Broadmoor Hospital
  • Liaising with Broadmoor staff
  • Organising and scheduling of equipment maintenance
  • Working towards the service achieving best practice
  • Ensuring processes and policies are up to date
  • Maintaining an inventory of all equipment
  • Assisting with CQC compliance
  • Training and supporting staff
  • Conducting and reviewing audits
  • Maintain COSHH records
  • Mentor/supervise staff new to working at this secure location

The “must haves” for you to be considered for this role:

  • GDC Registration.
  • National Certificate for Dental Nurses or NVQ Level 3 in Oral Healthcare.
  • Previousexperience as a Dental nursewithin Berkshire Community Dental service.
  • Have a car and driving licence.
  • Good communicationskills.
  • A team playerand ability to work with emotional,challengingor distressing situations.
  • Experience with dental software and general IT skills.
  • Ability to work outside normal working hours (8.30 – 17.00) given sufficient notice
