Nursery Teaching Assistant
We are looking for a caring and enthusiastic Nursery Teaching Assistant to join an early years team at a welcoming Primary School. This is a fantastic opportunity for someone who is passionate about working with young children and supporting their early development in a nurturing and stimulating environment.
As a Nursery Teaching Assistant, you will work alongside experienced practitioners to provide high-quality care and learning experiences for children. You will play a key role in supporting children’s social, emotional, and educational development.This role begins March 2025.
Duties as a Nursery Teaching Assistant:
- Supporting the early years curriculum through engaging activities and play-based learning.
- Assisting with personal care tasks, including feeding, toileting, and dressing where necessary.
- Encouraging children’s social and emotional development through positive interactions.
- Supporting speech and language development through storytelling, songs, and structured play.
- Observing and recording children’s progress, feeding back to teachers and parents/carers.
- Ensuring a safe, secure, and inclusive learning environment.
- Assisting with setting up and tidying learning areas and resources.
Ideal Nursery Teaching Assistant:
- A warm, patient, and nurturing personality.
- A passion for working with young children and supporting their development.
- Experience in an early years setting is desirable but not essential.
- A relevant qualification (e.g., CACHE Level 2/3, NVQ in Childcare, Early Years Educator) is preferred but not essential.
- Knowledge of the EYFS (Early Years Foundation Stage) framework is beneficial.
- A commitment to safeguarding and promoting children’s welfare.
