Hostel Cleaning Operative (part time)

Neway have a vacancy for a Hostel Cleanings Operative to join our client based with Cardiff Council.

This role is starting on the 21st of October, 18.5 hours a week. Initially for a 3 month contract that is likely to be extended.

Job Purpose: The Hostel Cleansing Operative will be responsible for providing high quality cleaning service in flats and communal area in Hostel/s across the City, which provide accommodation for vulnerable families and single people with complex needs.

Applicants will require the ability to get to the site they are working in. Full UK Driving license is desirable.

1. To provide a high-quality cleaning service and taking full responsibility for specific tasks in communal areas and residential flats within Hostels.
2. To follow all cleaning procedures.
3. To support the councils policies and procedures regarding Health and Safety and safe working practices.
4. To risk assess areas work and tasks to ensure a healthy and safe working environment for employees and public at large.
5. Identify repairs and report the condition of the flats and the communal areas within the hostel/s.
6. Liaise daily with Building Staff and Hostel Supervisor, reporting on operational problems arising, including ASB or other tenancy issues.
