We are currently seeking a dynamic and ambitious Category Buyer to join a leading procurement team. This role offers the opportunity to significantly contribute to the development of an industry-leading procurement function, working closely with category management and marketing teams.

Day-to-day of the role:

• Collaborate with the Category Manager to develop and implement category plans that align with business objectives and strategies.
• Manage and enhance supplier product profiles considering market demands and regional differences.
• Analyse product purchases, profitability, and supplier performance, providing benchmarking insights against market and company trends.
• Work with the Marketing team to devise and execute marketing initiatives that support category plans and manage supplier marketing budgets.
• Negotiate and agree on supplier commercial terms including discounts, rebates, and marketing support.
• Lead supplier-related initiatives and provide strategic category insights at the management level.
• Identify and propose new product opportunities within the category.
• Ensure the accuracy of product data in collaboration with the product data team and suppliers.

Required Skills & Qualifications:

• At least 5 years of experience in a Procurement role (Buyer, Product Manager or Category Manager).
• Electrical product knowledge is desirable
• Full driving licence
