StoneX has accquired a precious metals processing company in West Bromwich which specialises in the recovery and recycling of precious metals, with expertise in extracting silver, gold, platinum and palladium from various materials including photographic, electronics and industrial waste.The integration of the two companies will add refining capabilities to the StoneX Global Metals business and create opportunities for us to offer multiple products across the market.
OVERVIEW
The purpose of the role will be to support and assist the Engineering Manager and the current team with all aspects of mechanical and electrical maintenance across the site and assist with process Improvement projects.Health, Safety & Environmental aspects are also paramount to this role and will require assisting the SHE Team on a regular basis.
- Work closely with the site maintenance team to ensure plant Is running efficiently and safely
- Assist In Implementing process Improvement projects
- Help deliver new Ideas and strategies to support growth
- Work closeley with the site production teams to eliminate / Improve Issues with plant
- Help support the SHE Manager to ensure compliance of plant and equipment
Job Purpose and Responsibilities:
RESPONSIBILITIES- Carry out planned preventative maintenance tasks and develop the preventative maintenance system
- Respond to and eliminate re-occurrence as far as possible to breakdown situations
- Liaise with office and site teams as and when required
- Carry out 'quick' risk assessments for any non routine tasks reportin any concerns to Engineering and SHE Manager
- Troubleshooting and Identifying Issues with key pieces of plant
- Assist with Installation of new equipment
- Conducting frequent quality checks on equipment to ensure no maintenance Is required
- Completing emergency maintenance when equipment breaks down
- Lockout & Safe Isolation of plant
- To troubleshoot, Identify Issues, repair & maintain equipment such as:-
- 3 phase/motors/Inverters/contacts
- Chains/bearings/gearboxes
- Hydraulics and pneumatics
- LEV's/pumps/compressors
- Plumbing & pipefitting
Qualifications:
QUALIFICATIONS- 17th or 18th edition electrical qualification desirable
- Welding & fabricating experiencee advantageous, but not essential
- Mechanical experience In heavy Indutrsy / foundry type environment preferred
- Knowledge and experiencee of carrying out planned preventative / Reactive maintenance on plant
- Ability to carry out 'quick' risk assessments for non routine tasks
- Health, Safety and Environmental awareness
- Minimum 1 year’s experience In a manufacturing / heavy plant environment
- Excellent organisation skills
- The ability to work as part of a team as well as on your own initiative
- Ability to relate to staff at all levels
- The ability to ‘think on your feet’ and use of initiative
- A “can do” attitude
- Professional and approachable
- Flexible, reliable and good timekeeper
- Attention to detail Is essential for this role
- FLT & MEWP licence desirable, although Company will provide this training
- Ability to work In confined spaces and work at height
- Completed a recognised time served modern apprenticeship in an engineering discipline
- Experience in the use in a computerised maintenance management system (CMMS)
- Familiar with lean engineering principles
