Job Description
Your positive attitude and passion for providing high quality care and support will be your key strengths, but you'll also have a friendly, patient and positive approach to work. You should be keen to learn and show compassion to care for the people we support.
You will provide support with day to day activities, whilst encouraging and promoting independent living. As part of our team, you’ll help people reach their potential, through both practical and emotional support, making a positive difference to their lives.
Our teams provide care and support for individuals with different conditions at Priory sites all across the UK.
It would be ideal if you have previous experience gained in a similar role. However whilst this is valuable, we are looking for individuals who display the right values and behaviours in order to make a difference to people’s lives. You should be keen to learn and show compassion to care for the people we support.Not only is full training provided, but there are numerous career pathways available to you, including our Nurse Apprenticeship program.

Responsibilities
Supporting with personal care tasksPerform light housekeeping tasks
Assistance and support to attend medical appointments
Observe, monitor, and record physical and emotional well-being, Encouragement to participate in social and recreational activities
Head a team of Support workers on shift
Qualifications
Qualifications and Skills
Experience working in a care setting minimum of 12 months
Excellent interpersonal skills and a caring nature
Empathy, understanding and patience
Ability to work on your own and as part of a team
Ability to understand and follow policies and procedure
The ability to anticipate and respond to challenges
Competent in verbal and written English
A healthcare qualification is desirable, but not essential

Additional information
Riverview is located in the picturesque seaside town of Teignmouth, Devon. Our home offers residential support for eight people who are autistic. We are on a side road within a short walk of the local town and all amenities, right on the coast.Our team are dedicated to supporting the people we care for to develop skills that will enable them to fully participate in the community and live the life they want to.

All roles will be subject to a successful disclosure at an appropriate level from the Disclosure and Barring Service (DBS), Access NI or Disclosure Scotland, and the cost of this will be covered by Priory.
