Job overview
The Procurement team at AGH have an exciting opportunity within their team, working as a buyer. This role will be supporting the senior team deliver specific strategic targets and will involve problem solving, covering annual leave and periods of absence and learning new skills, such as logistics, inventory management, catalogue management and project management.
The team pride themselves on providing excellent customer service and aspire to be the best they can, contributing to the best possible service for patients and users within the hospital and community. AGHS are searching for an individual who is enthusiastic, confident and has good analytical, negotiation and communication skills, and is computer literate on everyday software systems and has an interest in emerging technologies such as Artificial Intelligence
Main duties of the job- Maintain safe infection prevention and control environment for yourself and others.
- Raise matters of non-compliance with your manager or other advisers to reach appropriate solutions.
- Ensure procedures specific to your specialty are in place, in collaboration with the Infection Control Team.
- Be familiar with and comply with Trust guidelines, policies and procedures relating to Infection prevention and control.
- Ensure that infection prevention and control guidelines, policies and procedures are distributed to relevant staff.
- Ensure that infection prevention and control forms part of staff appraisal.

Qualifications
Essential criteria- A good level of general education
- Experience in a Procurement environment.
- Professional qualifications to level 3 in Procurement, Supply Chain Management or logistics.
Skills
Essential criteria- Good interpersonal skills, good oral and written communication.
- Manage multiple tasks
- Prioritise own work effectively
- Ability to plan and develop own workloads to meet the strategic dimensions of the Department
Experience
Essential criteria- Experience of staff supervision and training colleagues
- Good experience in delivering cost reduction savings.
- Good analytical skills and mathematical orientation.
- Availability to use/develop use of common software packages i.e. Microsoft Office
- Experience in using a purchase to pay system, such as Oracle
- Experience in emerging technologies such as AI and RPA.
