Ipswich based medical furniture manufacturer looking to employ a skilled individual to join their purchasing team.
This is a fantastic opportunity to play a key role in a well-established medical company based in Ipswich. The company is going from strength to strength and are at the forefront of their marketplace. They are in the process of growing turnover and targeting new sectors.
The role would require you to be responsible for the purchase of key items for all different areas of the business and working within a tight knit team. It will suit someone who has worked in purchasing for several years, is confident in their abilities and would be happy working in a small team.
Ideally you would have worked previously within an Engineering or manufacturing environment. Must be very organised and have the ability to gather information from our MRP manufacturing system, create schedules for material deliveries, planned purchase orders and create accurate forecasts for future materials requirements, whilst also maintaining stocks of low value high usage items.
The Role:- Ensuring different departments have the right materials.
- Building and maintaining strong relationships with our supplier base.
- Implement and control the production schedule.
- Must have strong negotiation skills with the ability to gather and analyse cost data from multiple suppliers.
- Procure all goods and materials needed from approved suppliers.
- Work with team members to maintain stock levels.
- Ensure that standard operating procedures are adhered to.
- Liaise with Suppliers, customers and logistics team regarding delivery schedules.
- Purchasing / Production background
- Knowledge and understanding of SAP B1 or similar manufacturing systems.
- MRP experience
- Stock Controlling
- Good working knowledge of Excel
- Engineering / Manufacturing experience advantageous
- Able to work independently but also as part of a team.
