Start date: 1st September 2025, subject to employment checks.Hours: Full time or Part time available:
Full time = 40 hours per week, all year-round flexible working hours between Monday – Friday. 8am until 6pm across 4 days.
Full time salary: Grade 16 Point 2, currently £23,656 FTE (actual pay on 40 hours will be £25,574 per annum), then moving up to Grade 14, point 6, currently £25,183 FTE (actual pay on 40 hours will be £27,224 per annum) after 6 months' probation.
Part time = Nursery working patterns are: 8am until 1pm or 1pm until 6pm Monday to Friday, all-year-round (49 weeks).Part time salary: Grade 16 Point 2, currently £23,656 FTE (actual, dependant on hours), then moving up to Grade 14, point 6, currently £25,183 FTE (actual, dependant on hours) after 6 months' probation.
Location: Huish Nurseries - North Town Primary School & Nursery, Taunton.
Annual Leave: 25 days plus 8 bank holidays (part time pro rata).
Contract term: Permanent

Huish Nurseries @ North Town Primary School is a well-established, friendly nursery dedicated to providing high-quality care and education for children aged 2 -4 years old, open 49 weeks of the year from 8:00am- 6:00pm Monday to Friday.

We are looking for candidates who are able to:
- Provide a warm, welcoming, and inclusive atmosphere for children and families.
- Plan and deliver engaging activities that support children's developmental milestones.
- Observe, assess, and record children's progress to ensure they are reaching their full potential.
- Promote positive behaviour and a supportive learning environment.
- Maintain a clean, safe, and stimulating setting, adhering to health and safety policies.
- Follow all safeguarding policies and procedures of the nursery
- Work collaboratively and enthusiastically with a team to ensure high standards of care and education.
- Communicate effectively with parents/carers, keeping them informed about their child's progress.
Requirements:
- Level 2 or 3 qualification in Early Years Education or Childcare (or equivalent).
- GCSEs in Maths and English are essential.
- Previous experience working in a nursery or early years setting is desirable.
- Sound understanding of the Early Years Foundation Stage (EYFS) framework.
- Strong communication skills and a caring, patient approach.
- A commitment to safeguarding and promoting the welfare of children.
- Paediatric first aid, a current safeguarding certificate and a food hygiene certificate are desirable.
