What you’ll Be doing As a Cyber Security technician apprentice, you'll develop all the key skills needed to thrive in Cyber Security.
You’ll experience lots of variety and have the chance to work within all the teams that make up our multi-disciplinary Cyber Security department.No two days will be the same and you’ll find yourself working on exciting, cutting-edge projects.
Mentored by experienced professionals, you’ll learn how to:- Identify and investigate hacking incidents
- Complete digital information risk assessments
- Monitor and report security events, know when to escalate them, and review access to digital systems
- Develop and monitor effective security training and awareness resources for our people
- Handle security requests from different areas of the business

- A desire and passion to grow your career at National Highways To be eligible for the apprenticeship learning programme, you’ll also need to meet these essential requirements:
- Minimum of five GCSEs (including English and Maths, at grade C/grade 4 or above) To be eligible for a place on the programme, you must be available to attend the 4-day induction, 8
- 11 September 2025.
On your learning programme, you’ll complete a Level 3 apprenticeship, which will open the door to a career in the fast-growing Cyber Security industry.
