You will work in a multi-disciplinary team alongside radiologists, radiographers and nurses, to provide high quality care in a busy and demanding environment.

You will be joining an award winning team who are friendly and supportive. You will be provided with full training in an environment were personal development is encouraged.

Main duties of the job

The role of the interventional radiology clinical support worker is to provide high quality care to all of our patients and their relatives while they are within the radiology department by using a range of skills.

These include:
  • Facilitate patient transport to and from the department.
  • Provide therapeutic patient care during interventional procedures
  • Work closely with the consultant radiologists during certain interventional lists.
  • Stocking up of clinical areas, including stock rotation
  • Act as a circulating assistant within the radiology day case unit and angiography suite.

Qualifications

Essential criteria
  • NVQ Level 3 in Healthcare or a Level 3 Senior Healthcare Support Worker Apprenticeship - or equivalent experience
  • Level 1 Literacy and Numeracy (GCSE English and Maths Grade D-G)
  • Care Certificate

Knowledge, Training & Experience

Essential criteria
  • Experience of working as a Care Support Worker or equivalent in a Health or Social care setting
  • Experience of working in a team
Desirable criteria
  • Demonstrates an interest or previous experience in supporting other health care staff and learners
  • Commitment to undertaking continuous professional development (CPD)

Skills & Abilities

Essential criteria
  • Good communication (written and verbal skills)
  • Basic IT skills
  • Good organisational skills
