Design Engineer - Motorcycle / Automotive

The successful candidate will play a vital role in developing new products, working all the way from initial concept, through production and into service.

Design EngineerRole Context:
As a Design Engineer you will be part of a small, agile, engineering team; involved in the specification, design, development and procurement of components, assemblies and systems that contribute to our motorcycles. This will involve collaboration with Marketing, Production, Procurement and Aftercare teams.
Key Responsibilities:- Design components and systems for new model and facelift chassis projects, considering function, cost, manufacturing, assembly, quality and regulations.
- Produce 3D CAD models, assemblies and drawings using Solidworks (experience of other CAD packages also considered) to a high standard.
- Work in a timely manner to ensure projects are delivered within the prescribed timeline.
- Liaise with suppliers to ensure components are suitable for manufacture and the best possible quality is achieved.
- Plan & manage time, workload and reporting requirements effectively.
- Support development programmes with the testing of components and motorcycles.
- Conceptualise and develop functional parts with a strong appreciation for aesthetic form.
- Qualified to degree level or equivalent in a relevant Engineering discipline (Automotive, Motorsport, Mechanical, Aeronautical).
- Demonstrable experience in engineering design of components and subassemblies.
- Practical mechanical and engineering skills.
- Creative and passionate about new product design.
- Detailed knowledge of modern manufacturing processes.
- Proficient in 3D CAD, preferably Solidworks.
- Experience of creating and releasing 2D technical drawings.
- Understanding of motorcycle layout and construction.
- Passionate about the world of motorcycle/automotive/motorsport.
