Assistant cook

Bradwell Hall Nursing Home is looking to appoint an experienced Assistant Cook to work in the main kitchen within the Nursing Home.
The ideal candidate should have experience in a large food establishment eg: School, Hotel or Nursing Home with appropriate qualifications, be able to plan menus, organise and supervise staff and be capable of providing nutritious home cooked meals for our residents.
Weekly shifts: 3 shifts - 7.00am -5.00pm and 2 shifts 7.00am-2.00pm this will involve working alternate weekends.- Passion for cooking as well as nutrition
- Understanding of Health and safety regulations including COSHH regulations
- Knowledge on food and hygiene regulations
- Ability to supervise catering staff.
- Basic nutrition knowledge
- Ability to organise a catering environment.
- Must be able to demonstrate an understanding and awareness of equality & diversity
- Good communication skills in order to relate well to staff
- Good written communication skills to leave written instructions and to follow a stock control system
- Basic administrative skills
- Ability to work flexibly, responding to the needs of the service
