Polwhele House School is seeking a passionate and knowledgeable Mathematics Teacher to lead the delivery of Cambridge IGCSE Mathematics for the first time in the school’s history. This is an exciting opportunity to shape the future of mathematics at Polwhele House as we continue our development towards full GCSE provision.

The successful candidate will initially teach our Year 10 class, with teaching ideally spread over the week to provide continuity and maximise pupil support. As the school grows, this role is expected to increase in scope, and we would welcome applicants who are open to expanding their hours in the future—with the potential to move towards a full-time position.

We will also be offering Cambridge IGCSE Statistics, which the successful candidate will also deliver.

  • Hold a recognised teaching qualification (QTS preferred) and a strong academic background in mathematics.
  • Have experience teaching at GCSE or IGCSE level, ideally with the Cambridge IGCSE specification.
  • Be forward-thinking, adaptable, and excited to help establish the IGCSE framework at Polwhele House.
  • Communicate clearly and enthusiastically, building strong relationships with pupils, parents, and colleagues.
  • Be open to growing with the role as the school expands its GCSE offering.

We Offer:

  • Generous staff fee discount (75%) for dependants.
  • Professional development opportunities within a growing and ambitious school.
  • A collaborative, creative, and supportive teaching environment.
