SEN Teaching Assistant

Contract: Long-Term, Temp to Perm

Are you a compassionate and dedicated SEN Teaching Assistant looking for a rewarding opportunity? A welcoming and inclusive primary school in Oldbury is seeking a full-time SEN Teaching Assistant to support pupils with additional needs. This long-term role offers the potential to become permanent for the right candidate.

• Provide small group and in-class support to pupils with SEN, ensuring they can access learning effectively
• Assist with academic, social, and emotional development, adapting strategies to meet individual needs
• Work closely with teachers and the SENCO to track progress and implement tailored interventions
• Use structured routines, visual aids, and positive reinforcement to encourage engagement and independence
• Support pupils with ASD, ADHD, SEMH, and other learning needs, helping them feel confident and included in the classroom
• Promote a positive and inclusive learning environment that supports all pupils' well-being

• A Level 2 or 3 Teaching Assistant qualification or relevant SEN experience
• Experience working with children with additional needs in a primary school setting
• Knowledge of PECS, Makaton, sensory strategies, or behaviour management techniques is beneficial
• A strong understanding of safeguarding procedures and best practices in child protection
• A flexible and proactive approach, with the ability to work as part of a team
