Job overview

We are looking for Clinical Support Worker's who are capable of working in a busy, challenging and rewarding environment who possess excellent communication skills, can maintain a high degree of confidentiality, are able to work to deadlines, provide excellent personal care to our patients and work as part of team.

Previous experience is not essential as we will provide a package of training on commencement. You will be working with staff at all levels and we are looking for you to demonstrate a dedicated approach in providing a high quality service .

Hours per week 37.50 (full and part-time hours available)

Main duties of the job

The role of the Clinical Support Worker is to support the Registered Nurse in the delivery of high quality, evidence-based, holistic patient care. The post holder will be required to participate in a 24hr shift pattern and possible rotation between wards within their speciality

Qualifications

Essential criteria
  • Good standard of general education
  • Care Certificate or working towards, this must be completed within first 3 months of employment
  • Pass in GSCE’s in Maths and English (4/C or above) or equivalent
  • NVQ Level 2 in direct care/customer services or equivalent experience

Knowledge and Skills

Essential criteria
  • Demonstrates good insight into roles and responsibilities of the post
  • Able to demonstrate an understanding of principles of effective customer care
  • Demonstrates an understanding of the importance of quality care
  • Good verbal and non-verbal communication skills; especially with people with varying levels of understanding
  • Demonstrates good literacy and written skills
  • Able to present factual information and refer to questions to others where appropriate
  • Able to deal with sensitive issues with tact and diplomacy
  • Basic IT skills e.g use of e-mails

Experience

  • Experience of working in a fast-paced environment
