Job overview
We are seeking a well-organised and enthusiastic individual to join our busy Plastic Surgery Booking Team. This role primarily focuses on managing the Main Theatre Surgery bookings within the service.
Main duties of the job
The successful candidate will be able to work effectively under pressure, prioritise a varied workload, and communicate clearly and confidently. You should be comfortable working both independently and as part of a team, liaising with staff at all levels and demonstrating a proactive, willing-to-learn attitude.This is a fast-paced position that requires adaptability and the ability to manage a wide range of administrative tasks.
You will also be expected to support the wider team during periods of absence providing cross-cover & have knowledge of RTT and Cancer targets. Flexibility and strong teamwork are essential to ensure the smooth and efficient running of our services.

This role is contracted for 34.5hrs per week over 5 days.

Qualifications
Essential criteria- • Educated to A Level or Level 3 Business Admin/IT qualification or equivalent experience including
- English GCSE pass at Grade 4 or above
- Maths GCSE pass at Grade 4 or above
- • Touch typing certificate or equivalent experience
- • Audio typing experience
- • Secretarial qualification (RSA III) or equivalent experience
- • IT specialist, health informatics qualification or equivalent
- • Team Leader/Management qualification
- • Medical Terminology Certificate or equivalent
Experience
Essential criteria- • Experience of working in a busy clerical/office environment or reception service
- • Prioritising, planning and organising own tasks
- • Working within guidelines
- • Experience of dealing with difficult situations and confrontations
- • Data entry experience and documentation
- • Experience of IT packages – Microsoft Office
- • Experience of producing documents to a high standard
- • Previous experience of working in healthcare or Public Sector.
- • Previous experience of working in the NHS

Essential criteria- • Basic Knowledge of waiting lists and booking procedures
- • Understanding of confidentiality and data protection
