Through your experienced leadership skills, you will play a key role in shaping our culture in line with our values, upholding standards and driving performance. Drawing on your existing change and continuous improvement experience, you will support us to realise our vision of policing for everyone particularly as we progress on our journey to become a Police Force with a graded judgement of Outstanding.
You are likely to be as a minimum an existing ACC, DCC or equivalent rank (including recently retired) and will have a notable record of innovation and strategic delivery that has significantly improved operational effectiveness within your current Force.Combined with your current policing experience, you should be able to demonstrate advanced business skills including change and cost/budget management that have led to the improvement of performance outcomes at both strategic and operational levels.
Required Education, Qualifications, Skills and Experience
Successful completion of the Police Leadership Programme: Stage 5 (Executive Leaders) or successfully completed the strategic command course prior to 2024.Authorising Officer Training.
Wide ranging operational law enforcement experience.
A demonstrable track record of successful experience of working at a strategic level, including the leadership of law enforcement officers and staff at senior levels.
Experience of successfully engaging with and influencing multi-agency partnerships.
Experience of embedding an effective performance management framework.
Experience of implementing successful organisational development, change and innovation.
Experience of management of significant budgets.
Up to date operational/technical policing knowledge.
Knowledge of developing political, economic, social, technological, legal and environmental factors and an understanding of the implications for strategic planning.
Knowledge of relevant local, regional and national policies, strategies and initiatives and an understanding of the implications within the policing context.
The Deputy Chief Constable position carries on call responsibilities and as such the holder is required to live within a maximum of one hour travel time to their nearest Wiltshire Police Station.
Clearance Level for this position is designated MV + DV
