Youth Pastor

JOB DESCRIPTION

• Ideal candidates should have a proficient understanding of the challenges young people face and are compassionate.
• Previous experience as youth pastor or youth leader in youth ministry
• Proficient understanding of challenges and needs of young people.
• Excellent computer skills, and proficiency with social media.
• Outstanding communication skills, both verbal and written.
• Possess excellent leadership, and organizational and communication skills. strong communication skills
• Must be able to pass criminal background check
• Available to work weekends and public holidays
• Experience in youth counselling, mentoring and development.
• Demonstrate gifts and calling to youth ministry, love young people, and have a passion for youth evangelism and outreaches
• Must have the ability to research the community, utilizing technology and social media to reach the un-churched youth of our community.
• Should be able to act with minimal supervision and provide guidance to church leadership in all areas concerning youth ministry.
• Exhibit proven ability to teach and train youth into a deeply enriching faith experience.
• Exemplify obedience to the Word of God and devotion to a deep-rooted Christian prayer life.

Most importantly possess a passion to lead the youth of our church and community into being good ambassadors of Christ and the church in the society.

• Leading and interacting with youths to encourage their spiritual growth by setting up programs, events and Bible study lessons
• Developing positive relationships with youths and their parents.
• Displaying a Christ-like approach and lifestyle and praying regularly for young people in the church and the community.
• Incorporating youths into various church ministries/activities by encouraging and supporting them to worship, do volunteer works, and get them involved in community activities/outreaches.
• Growing and support youths interested in the knowledge of God and His Word.
• Lead worship, water baptism, and Holy Communion for the youths
• Organise Youth Conventions and Conferences to spread the Christian faith/message
• Provide counsel, spiritual and moral guidance and assistance for youths in needs
• Prepare, deliver sermons, interpret doctrine, articles of faith of the organisation to the youths
• Instruct youths who seek conversion to the Christian faith
• Provide leadership to our overall youth ministry by overseeing, growing, and coordinating the church's youth ministry.
• Build a growing Youth Ministries team to effectively reach the un-churched youths within Southwark Borough and extended communities.
• Participate in staff meetings with the Senior Pastor, Governing Council, and Trustee meetings, and other meetings necessary to lead an effective youth ministry.
