Caldmore Primary Academy is looking to appoint a 1-year fixed term Level 3 SEN Teaching Assistant who strives to share their passion for education with our students and join our dedicated team to uphold the Academy’s vision and values.
About you
We are looking for an enthusiastic individual who is self-motivated and has a passion for supporting, teaching, and learning by establishing supportive relationships with students, helping to raise their self-esteem and develop a positive attitude to learning within a primary Academy.The successful candidate will give support to SEN pupils, individually or in groups, so they can access the curriculum, take part in learning, and experience a sense of achievement.
You will be enthusiastic, patient, and able to use their own initiative, to support students in the classroom to ensure that they are making progress academically, socially, and emotionally. Previous experience of working with children with a variety of SEND needs such as autism, speech and language difficulties, dyslexia, trauma, anxiety, adverse childhood experiences and other mental health needs is essential.
This role requires:
- 5 GCSEs (minimum c) or equivalent, including English and Mathematics
- L3 Teaching and Learning NVQ or equivalent
- Training and qualifications relating to SEN. An understanding of how to support SEMH needs in young people.
