English Teacher

We are seeking an English Teacher to join a vibrant and dedicated team in a secondary school located in Scunthorpe. Day-to-day of the role:

• Plan, prepare and deliver engaging English lessons to students across Key Stages 3 and 4, ensuring alignment with the national curriculum.
• Assess, record, and report on the development, progress, and attainment of students.
• Foster a positive learning environment in the classroom that promotes enthusiasm for learning and encourages pupils' academic growth.
• Collaborate with colleagues to develop new curriculum materials and teaching strategies that reflect the school's values.
• Participate in departmental meetings, parent evenings, and whole school training events.
• Manage pupil behaviour in the classroom and on school premises, applying appropriate and effective measures in cases of misbehaviour.

Required Skills & Qualifications:

• Qualified Teacher Status (QTS) or equivalent.
• Proven experience teaching English at secondary school level.
• Strong understanding of the strategies needed to establish high standards of behaviour management and classroom control.
• Ability to plan and deliver lessons that both challenge and engage students.
• Strong organisational and communication skills.
• Commitment to professional development and willingness to learn.
