Are you the right person for us?
We are looking for an enthusiastic individual who is comfortable working with people, ideally with experience in optical dispensing, who shares our drive to provide excellence for our patients and who is keen to learn with our team. You should share our belief in offering personalised recommendations based on the patient's needs so that all of our patients feel great about their experience.We hope to find someone who is confident with digital technology and IT systems, there is space for a social media lead in the team so confidence and enthusiasm for the digital world would be an advantage.

About the Role:
We are looking for a full or part time Optical Assistant Receptionist to join us in delivering outstanding patient care.
If you have worked in the optical sector before you will be familiar with the Optical Assistant role although it may look a little different at Shrewsbury Optometry. We have a full time opportunity which could be split as part of a job share.Initial salary is in line with the National Living Wage, increasing with experience.
The successful applicant will:
- Meet and greet patients in our beautiful conservatory
- Answer patient enquiries in person and by phone or email· Offer personalised recommendations for frames and lenses in our frame room
- Accompany our patients through the dispensing process, taking all required measurement and using our specialist dispensing equipment, and ensuring a final result that fits well, looks great and gives the best possible vision.
- Look after our patients when disaster strikes by repairing damaged spectacles to get our patients back seeing again
- Take on additional roles in the team for which they are particularly suited, we currently have a space for a social media and website lead
We are also looking for someone who shares our dedication to putting patients first and spending the time needed to get to the bottom of their visual needs.
Equally important to us is the way you interact with patients. Providing a friendly, informative, and empathetic service is a must.
