We are seeking a dynamic and experienced Materials Stock Controller to join our dedicated team. You will play a crucial role in ensuring the smooth and efficient flow of essential medical supplies across our Trusts, directly impacting patient care and operational success.
What You'll Bring:
Proven experience in materials management within a healthcare setting.
Deep understanding of inventory control principles and best practices.
Proficiency with inventory management systems (Omnicell, EDC Gold or other Inventory management experience a plus!).
Strong analytical and problem-solving skills.
Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
Ability to work independently and as part of a team.
A passion for making a difference in healthcare.
Main duties of the job
Manage the Supply Chain: Managing the NHS Supply Chain stocks which will include managing any unsatisfied lines with key stakeholders, managing stock levels and ensuring accurate recording of stocks in Theatres and critical areas, to overseeing transfers between departments and sites where necessary.
Master the Systems: Be able to interoperate all EDC reports and any in house/inventory management systems, you will be able to troubleshoot issues, run reports, and ensure data integrity.
Lead and Inspire: Mentor and train the materials management team, fostering a culture of efficiency and accuracy. You'll also collaborate with clinical staff, suppliers, and other stakeholders, building strong relationships across the Trust.
Optimise and Innovate: Continuously review and adjust stock levels, implement best practices, and identify opportunities for improvement. You'll be a key player in ensuring we're always prepared to meet the evolving needs of our patients and staff.

Education/Qualification
Essential criteria- NVQ Level 4/Diploma Level qualification or relevant equivalent experience
- Degree qualified or equivalent level of experience
- Working towards CIPS qualification
Experience
Essential criteria- Experience of working in a stores/stock control environment
- Experience of working in a customer focused environment
- Experience of working within the NHS and an understanding of current issues
Skills & Knowledge
Essential criteria- Demonstrable IT skills (esp. Microsoft Office and purchasing systems)
- Analysis: Skilled in being able to conduct analysis on complex data sets to provide concise insights
- Knowledge of stock Inventory Management
Key Attributes
Essential criteria- Team worker/enthusiastic
- Good general fitness
- Ability to work under pressure
