We are seeking a Deputy Designated Teacher (ESOL) in our Safeguarding and Wellbeing team, who will lead on ensuring that care experienced students receive exceptional support, helping them to achieve their potential and transition successfully into positive destinations beyond college.The department is an exceptional place to work, with staff working collaboratively and creatively to support students' welfare and development. The team culture is warm, values-driven and focused on making a real difference to the lives of vulnerable young people.
This important role involves coordinating support for care experienced students, including leading on Personal Education Plan (PEP) meetings, liaising with social workers, and working across departments to remove barriers to learning. You will also play a key role in staff training, enrichment activities, and maintaining robust data and safeguarding practices.
The ideal candidate will have experience working with vulnerable young people, strong safeguarding knowledge, and a clear understanding of the statutory responsibilities around care experienced learners. You’ll bring strong interpersonal and organisational skills, experience of working in education or a similar setting, and the ability to engage positively with a range of stakeholders.
