What you'll do:
Do you enjoy adding value through people? At Viasat, we in People & Culture (P&C) are dedicated to the people business. This is a rare opportunity at the intern level to partner with "the P&C" of an organization and work across teams, experiencing work at the heart of Viasat- the people team!In your role as Intern in the UK and Ireland Regional P&C Team you will partner and collaborate with cross functional teams including Culture and Inclusion, HR Operations, Reward and the wider People and Culture function. We are eager to offer this opportunity to provide professional growth and exposure to various facets of HR within a global organization!
The day-to-day:
- Conduct data analysis as well as global policy and procedures research and benchmarking for key countries in which we have operations
- Shadow Regional P&C Business Partners on employee relations matters and provide process and procedural assistance.
- Support Regional P&C Business Partners with payroll inputs related to P&C processes.
- Support the P&C Operations team with ticket resolutions, tier 1 enquiries, service management, onboarding and offboarding.
- Support with UK Immigration processes and procedures, and Right to Work checks.
- Support the updating and maintenance of HRIS and locally held employee records.
- Support to wider P&C activities such as promotion of the use of the apprenticeship levy, support at careers fairs and early career initiatives.
- Conduct and present on P&C data and analytics.
Internship Program Details:
- You will work onsite at the Viasat London office for the duration of your 12-13 week internship. Viasat embraces a flexible work environment and onsite/hybrid work is determined by individual roles and teams.
- To ensure equity across our intern population, intern compensation is pre-determined based on a variety of factors including: role, location, and final graduation date. Intern compensation is non-negotiable
What you'll need:
Education Requirements:
- Currently pursuing a Bachelor's degree or equivalent or higher in Human Resources, business, marketing, communication, psychology, or a related field
- To be eligible for this position your final graduation date must fall between December 2025 and June 2026
Internship Dates:
- You must be available full time for the duration of the 12-week summer internship program. Note limited exceptions may be granted.
- - Internship Dates: June 17th, 2025 – September 12th, 2025
Additional Requirements:
- Proficiency in Microsoft Office, specifically Excel, Word, Outlook, and Powerpoint
- Ability to conduct extensive data analysis and visualization
- Excellent interpersonal skills including strong written and verbal communication
- Ability to work with and communicate to professionals and team members at varying levels
- Maintain a high degree of precision and attention to detail
What will help you on the job:
- Organization and time management is critical
- Familiarity with systems such as Handshake, Workday, and SharePoint
- Experience in a corporate setting/human resources
