Teacher of Textiles
We are looking to appoint an inspiring and highly skilled Teacher of Textiles to join our successful school on a fixed-term basis until July 2027.

Experience & Background
As an inspirational and encouraging teacher, you will have a good Degree in Textiles or a related area, with a proven track record of excellence in teaching. You will have outstanding subject knowledge and a passion for the subject, with the ability to communicate this and deliver engaging and creative lessons for all students.The successful candidate will demonstrate excellent interpersonal, organisational and communication skills, an appreciation of different learning styles, the ability to play an effective part in a team and build positive rapports with colleagues and students.
You will have an appreciation of the ethos and aims of Bedales.
Teachers at Bedales Prep are not only excellent teachers, but also have a commitment to strong pastoral care and student development. This role would suit an Early Career Teacher, seeking to consolidate your teaching practice with the support of experienced and caring colleagues.
You should also be keen to play a full and inclusive role in the wider life of our busy Prep school community and be able to contribute to the development of our innovative school both pastorally and through co-curricular activities, such as taking part in our annual camps week.
This post is to teach 26 Textiles lessons a week plus 2 hours of sports fixtures every Wednesday afternoon during term-time. Learning takes place throughout the day and encompasses tutoring, co-curricular activities, and support and extension sessions as well as subject lessons.Most core curriculum commitments for students are scheduled 08:20 - 17:30 on Monday to Friday, and until 12:35 on Saturday.
