Legal Director, Regulatory Affairs & Compliance - 10+pqe - London

Marsden are excited to be partnering with a leader in the fintech sector looking to hire a Director of Regulatory Affairs & Compliance, a newly created role to support the business. This is an opportunity to take on an integral, strategic position within a fast-paced Founder-led business, having already hit 'Unicorn' status through this next phase of growth.

A competitive salary package is on offer including long term incentives. Central London location with hybrid working arrangements.

Reporting to the Chief Legal & Risk Officer you will hold a key role focusing on all regulatory and compliance matters including:

  • acting as a key advisor to senior leaders, offering clear advice involving the FCA, consumer duty and other relevant financial services regulatory and legal frameworks
  • supporting the business on legal and compliance risk advice
  • drafting and negotiation of regulatory documentation
  • developing and maintaining a robust compliance framework in line with operational processes
  • liaising extensively with the FCA and other regulators
  • advising on the regulatory issues around product launches and other key business initiatives
  • instructing external counsel when required
To be considered for this opportunity, you will be a qualified lawyer, 10+ years PQE having trained in the FS Regulatory practice of a top tier firm with subsequent experience spent in-house or private practice in a similar capacity. You will bring a depth of technical knowledge and experience as a regulatory lawyer in addition to previous experience working in an FCA regulated environment.

Ability to work effectively with c-suite stakeholders in a high-growth environment is key.
