Job Description
The Financial Controller is responsible for:
- Maintaining the integrity of financial accounts for overseas entities, ensuring reconciliations between local statutory accounts and management accounts are accurate.
- Lead projects involving the establishment, restructuring, or closure of international entities, ensuring compliance with advice from Group Tax, Legal, HR, and Treasury, and keeping all relevant stakeholders informed.
- Manage relationships with third-party accounting and payroll providers, on-boarding new suppliers, setting service expectations, and ensuring adherence to agreed control processes.
- Identify opportunities to streamline and standardise processes, such as implementing a uniform T&E system across all entities.
- Develop and maintain the overseas entity Manual, outlining processes and procedures to be implemented consistently across all overseas territories.
- Authorise funding for overseas entities, balancing the need for liquidity with safeguarding Group funds from risks such as FX losses or fraudulent activity.
- Provide relevant data and updates to Division Finance Directors, Business Partners, and the Financial Planning and Analysis team to ensure compliance with legal, tax, and regulatory frameworks.
- Chair geographical meetings with Tax, Legal, HR, FP&A, and Business Partners to address overseas entity - related matters.
- Respond to audit queries and ensure timely resolution of audit points related to overseas entities.
The Successful Applicant
A successful International Financial Controller should have:Essential:
- Professionally qualified accountant with a comprehensive understanding of accounting and regulatory requirements.
- Strong analytically and investigative skills, with the ability to work independently.
- Effective and persuasive communicator, capable of engaging with individuals at all levels.
- Experience in a global finance role.
- Knowledge of key business processes and best practices.
- Paid on a daily rate basis
- 3 month contract initially with potential to extend
