Job Description- Manage and ensure the accurate recording of payables, receivables, and general ledger entries for both national and international operations.
- Lead the month-end financial procedures and journal authorisation according to set timelines.
- Oversee the preparation of monthly balance sheet reconciliations and manage financial reporting for the group and subsidiaries.
- Lead the development of financial analysis, providing insights that support the organisation's strategic objectives.
- Manage financial controls, ensuring adherence to internal policies and external reporting regulations, including compliance with UK GAAP and IFRS standards.
- Support and liaise with auditors during year-end and interim audits, ensuring timely resolution of queries.
- Provide financial advice to departments and stakeholders, ensuring cross-charging and reconciliation of costs are completed accurately and efficiently.
- Drive process improvements in reporting standards, treasury management, and overall financial operations across the organisation.
- Ensure financial statements are compliant with regulatory standards, including SORP and FRS 102, and provide ad-hoc reports to management as needed.
- Support staff and volunteers with financial training and guidance where necessary.
The Successful Applicant
The Successful Applicant Should Have:
- ACA, ACCA, or another relevant accounting qualification. Part-qualified candidates with 5-10 years of charity finance experience will also be considered.
- Strong knowledge of Charities SORP, external audits, and UK accounting standards.
- Proven experience in process improvements and implementing innovative financial solutions.
- Advanced Excel skills and solid technical accounting knowledge, including financial modelling.
- Excellent time management and organisational skills, able to meet deadlines under pressure.
- Strong communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to coach and mentor others.
- A proactive, self-motivated attitude and experience in managing teams.
- Empathy with the values, and a commitment, to the organisation and it's mission.
- A competitive salary ranging from £40,405 to £51,310 per annum.
