Head of Conveyancing

Day-to-day of the role:
- Manage a full and varied caseload of residential and commercial conveyancing matters, including freehold and leasehold sales/purchases, transfers of equity, remortgages, and more.
- Oversee all aspects of transactions from initiation to completion, including stamp duty procedures, title checking, search reports, and enquiries.
- Handle leasehold transactions, including the grant of leases, regulation of landlord and tenant relationships, lease renewals, and deeds of surrender.
- Engage in business development activities to enhance the department's market presence.
- Provide leadership and direction to the conveyancing team, ensuring efficient workflow and adherence to legal standards.
Management Responsibilities:
- Audit and enhance conveyancing processes to improve efficiency and compliance with legal and ethical standards.
- Prepare and present reports on departmental performance, focusing on key metrics such as completion times and client satisfaction.
- Ensure compliance with all relevant legal and regulatory requirements, including the CQS (Client Services Quality Standards).
Required Skills & Qualifications:
- Extensive experience in residential and commercial conveyancing (6+ Years PQE).
- Strong leadership and management skills, capable of overseeing a busy department.
- Ability to handle a high volume of cases with precision and professionalism.
- Excellent organisational and prioritisation skills.
- Proven track record of proactive problem-solving.
- Excellent client interaction skills with a professional demeanour.
- Technical competence in conveyancing law.
