About the Role
As a Safeguarding Wellbeing Officer, you will work closely with the Safeguarding Officer to implement safeguarding policies and provide comprehensive support for students, ensuring compliance with the latest Keeping Children Safe in Education guidelines.This role focuses on promoting mental health and wellbeing, fostering resilience, and enabling students to succeed in their educational journey.
You will:
Act as the primary contact for students receiving mental health support, liaising with external agencies such as CAMHs and Children’s Services.
Develop and deliver tailored 1:1 and group activities for students experiencing social anxiety or other wellbeing challenges.
Organise and lead whole-college wellbeing initiatives to create a positive and inclusive learning environment.
Provide safeguarding support by maintaining accurate records, responding to disclosures, and ensuring timely interventions.
Deliver staff training to equip colleagues with the skills needed to support student wellbeing effectively.
Advocate for students in multi-agency settings, championing their mental health and welfare needs.
About You
You are a compassionate and proactive professional with experience in safeguarding, mental health support, or student wellbeing. You understand the challenges faced by young people and vulnerable adults and are committed to helping them thrive.
Essential qualifications and experience include: A relevant degree or equivalent professional qualification.
Designated Safeguarding Lead (DSL) training within the last three years.Proven experience supporting students with safeguarding and mental health needs.
Strong communication, organisational, and interpersonal skills.
