Are you a passionate, talented, and inspiring Head of Computer Science or looking for a promotion from your current Teacher of Computer Science role? If so, we would love to hear from you.

As a key member of staff within the Mathematics department you will effectively manage classes using a range of teaching techniques and strategies as a basis for setting challenging learning objectives for pupils of all abilities and backgrounds.

You will be a suitably qualified and experienced Computer Science Teacher with the ability to teach Years 7 to 13, covering KS3, KS4 and KS5 and BTEC in IT

It is essential that the appointed Head of Computer Science is an effective team member, who can help to promote Computer Science by means of raising pupil attainment, and who encourages a learning experience that provides pupils with the opportunity to achieve their potential.

You will lead by example, supporting learners to achieve to the best of their ability. Applicants will be passionate about planning, preparing, and delivering high quality engaging lessons. As Head of Computer Science, you will also fully engage in an extensive co-curricular programme.

The successful Head of Computer Science candidate should possess the drive and determination to enthuse all pupils to reach the highest standards. This role offers the opportunity to fully engage in a vibrant array of co-curricular activities and enrichment within the school’s boarding life.

Additionally, you will be required to take on the role of tutor, further contributing to the development of our students.

Our appointed Head of Computer Science will be someone who:

  • demonstrates excellent subject knowledge and a passion for Computer Science and IT.
  • has an ability to teach up to and including A Level Computer Science and a BTEC in IT.
  • will engender an atmosphere within lessons which is conducive to active learning and encourage pupils to learn collaboratively.
  • is dynamic, creative, and inspirational, motivating pupils to strive for the best.
  • will be committed to their own professional development.
  • is available to start from September 2025
  • has an appreciation of the ethos of a Catholic and Benedictine boarding school.
