This position will offer the post holder an opportunity to work closely with experienced clinical and research colleagues across a diverse portfolio of trials covering over 20 different clinical specialties including but not limited to HIV, Sickle cell disease, Diabetes, Dermatology, Nephrology and Oncology.
You will be working within a highly regulated environment of clinical research. With our MHRA Phase I accreditation of our Guy’s Unit you will contribute to team-wide improvement projects designed to ensure we maintain our accreditation status.Accordingly, you will also gain experience in quality improvement, quality assurance, monitoring, audit and inspection.
To meet the needs of the service you will be required to work at two of our Units – the Guy’s Phase I Unit and the St. Thomas’ Adults Unit.
The post holder is expected to work on shift patterns necessary to ensure patient safety and timely delivery of clinical trials.Work patterns will include day shifts, regular late and night duties, and weekends as required.Your work patterns will be agreed with your Line Manager and align with the weekly duty roster of both Units.
The post-holder will be allocated to support/lead a selection of trials and studies. The successful candidate will undertake clinical, laboratory and study management duties while ensuring patient safety and complying to Good Clinical Practice (GCP) Guidelines.

Example of duties include but not limited to:
Clinical: phlebotomy, taking observations, recording ECGs and cannulationLaboratory: processing, storing and shipping samples
Study management: co-lead/lead on portfolio of trials, completing eCRF/CRFs, data query resolution, ISF maintenance, coordinating patient visits and trial assessment activities, reporting of AE/SAEs, liaising with internal and external CRA/sponsors/R&D, attending Study Initiation Visits, and hosting Monitoring Visits.

The CRF is comprised of five units located across our sites – Guy’s CRF incorporating our phase I unit; St Thomas’ CRF with a unit focus on experimental and cardiometabolic research; our Imaging CRF, built around patient pathways across St Thomas’ Hospital, the Children’s CRF located within Evelina London Children’s Hospital, and the Royal Bromptom CRF.Being located across three sites in the heart of London provides us with access to the most diverse populations in the UK.
With MHRA Phase I accreditation for our Guy’s CRF unit, we are uniquely placed to deliver Phase I commercial and non-commercial patient focused studies. Our CRF is the only one in the UK with embedded Advanced Therapies Manufacturing (GMP) and immune monitoring platforms.
