The Role:

As a Facilities Technician, you will work closely with the Facilities Team to ensure the smooth operation and maintenance of all equipment and systems within our facility. This role is crucial in ensuring a safe and efficient working environment; you will be responsible for preparing and executing a comprehensive preventative maintenance plan for all infrastructure assets at our Burgess Hill facility.

Collaboration with various teams throughout the facility is essential for a successful maintenance program. You will demonstrate a clear and precise understanding of both the equipment and the team’s needs. Your duties will include carrying out necessary repairs and upgrades to equipment and systems, ensuring compliance with safety standards and operational efficiency.

Additionally, you will provide technical support during customer events, ensuring all equipment and systems are functioning properly and addressing any issues that arise promptly. Adherence to all safety regulations and protocols is paramount to ensure a safe working environment for all employees.

Responsibilities:

  • Develop and Implement Maintenance Procedures: Create and follow preventative maintenance schedules for all equipment and systems to minimise downtime and extend the lifespan of assets.
  • Conduct Routine Inspections: Perform regular inspections of machinery, HVAC systems, electrical systems, and other critical infrastructure to identify potential issues before they become major problems.
  • Maintain Records: Keep detailed records of maintenance activities, including inspections, repairs, and parts replacements. Ensure all documentation is up-to-date and easily accessible.
  • Inventory Management: Monitor and manage inventory of spare parts and maintenance supplies, ensuring that necessary items are always in stock.
  • Emergency Response: Be available for emergency repairs and maintenance outside of regular working hours as needed.
  • Water Hygiene Monitoring: Conduct regular water hygiene monitoring, including testing for Legionella and other contaminants, to ensure compliance with health and safety standards.
  • Goods-In Holiday Cover: Assist with goods-in processes during holiday periods, ensuring that incoming supplies and equipment are properly received, inspected, and documented.

Qualifications:

  • NVQ level 3 in electrical/mechanical maintenance preferred.
  • Or minimum of 3 years of experience in a maintenance role.

Skills and Attributes:

  • Strong organisational and multitasking abilities.
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
  • Proficiency in maintenance management software and Microsoft Office Suite (Teams, Outlook, Excel, Word and Project)
  • Strong mechanical and electrical troubleshooting skills, ability to read and interpret technical manuals and engineering drawings.
  • Detail-oriented, proactive, excellent problem-solving skills, ability to work independently and as part of a team.
  • Understanding of health and safety regulations.
