Following the promotion of our Roald Dahl Epilepsy Specialist Nurse,an exciting opportunity has arisen to join a team of motivated and dynamic children’s diabetes service. The successful candidate will be working in an award-winning team. The post requires continued collaboration with the acute and community paediatric leads within North Middlesex Hospital and across North Central London.

We are seeking an experienced children’s nurse, with experience in acute and community, children or neonatal services practicing at band 6 level or above. The team that you will work with you is talented, motivated, and expanding with several exciting new roles concurrently advertised.

We are looking for a candidate who will be visible, patient and staff focused to work within this excellent team.

This is the perfect role for an nurse who wishes to pursue a CNS role in Epilepsy. For internal applications this post could be considered as a secondment with your direct line manager support.

This role will be expected to act as a practice leader, managing own workload and work across professional, organizational, agency and system boundaries to develop services for Children and Young People (CYP) with Epilepsy. This will include life-limiting and life shortening conditions.

To participate and contribute to networks, locally, regionally and nationally. The post holder will promote and facilitate excellent standards of care and contribute to the future development of the Paediatric Epilepsy services within the trust.

The role will critically appraise evidenced based practice and apply the principles of prudent healthcare, assessing and managing risk and proactively challenge others.

The post holder will act as key liaison between children’s and adult’s Services, Health Care Teams, Lead Consultant, Consultant Physicians, Out-patient nursing team, Senior Sisters and Nursing teams for paediatric and adult Units, Tertiary Unit teams and within the Children’s Community and District Nursing Services, and Public Health Teams, in relation to epilepsy care.

We also provide community services and have a dedicated 0-19 service for children and young people in Enfield so that they can get the best possible start in life.
This includes health visitors and school nurses who are delivering the national Healthy Child Programme, which provides a structured framework for the delivery of key interventions to support the health and wellbeing of children and families from 0 to 5 and school aged children from 5-19.
