Overall, there are four consultant posts available as soon as possible.
To allow best flexibility for candidates who choose to maintain their skills in both acute general gynaecology and obstetrics the option of a combined post is available.
The posts in acute general gynaecology are designed to provide high-quality clinical care to patients presenting with problems relating to Acute Emergency General Gynaecology and Early Pregnancy problems. The aim is to provide Consultant delivered care and supervision for daytime (weekdays only) emergency Gynaecology and early pregnancy patients and support the resident doctors on-call.
The posts in obstetrics are designed to provide high-quality clinical care to patients attending our obstetric department. Following our recent CQC visit these jobs are intended to improve the pathway for patients presenting particularly to the maternity triage areas and being admitted to the postnatal ward.
You will be fully registered with the GMC and ideally have a CCT in Obstetrics and Gynaecology or be within six months of award of CCT at the time of interview. Applications are welcomed from those unable to work full time for personal reasons or those wishing to job-share.

The applicant must have demonstrable skills in listening, reading, writing and speaking in English that enable effective communication about medical topics with patients and colleagues, as set out in the GMC’s Good Medical Practice (2013). Non-UK applicants must possess the IELTS/OET exam before obtaining a GMC licence to practice.

In acute general gynaecology the candidates will also be encouraged to have special interest in other areas i.e menopause, ambulatory Gynaecology, fertility, recurrent miscarriage, scanning etc.
The acute general gynaecology posts do not have any out of hours during the week or weekend on call cover requirements and will be attractive for any candidate who does not wish to do out of hours and weekend on call. The weekday on call commitment will be 1:3 with prospective cover shared between 3 Acute Gynaecology Consultants.
In obstetrics these posts are designed to provide high-quality clinical care to patients attending our obstetric department. The obstetric posts are associated with out of hours work as part of a 1:17 on call cover over night and weekends.
The combined posts include an obstetric on-call commitment of 1 in 34 and a weekday on call commitment in acute general gynaecology of 1 in 6
