Job overview
Due to recent promotion of the previous post holder, the position of Team Coordinator for Acute Paediatrics has become available. This is an exciting opportunity for someone with previous medical secretary and supervisory experience, or someone who is looking to expand their skills, to join our team and make a difference.
The ideal candidate for this role will be someone who can demonstrate superb administration and secretarial skills, has an excellent team ethic and has a passion for learning in what will be a varied and evolving role.
Main duties of the job
The primary role for the post holder will be to provide supervision and day to day management of the Acute Paediatrics administration team. Ensuring that staffing is adequate and that all staff are working to best practice guidance and trust policies and procedures in full co-operation with the Clinical Administration Lead (CAL) and the Care Group Management Team.
The post holder will provide secretarial support within the acute paediatrics medical team as part of the team of 13 secretaries.
The post holder will provide cover for secretarial colleagues within the team.
The main duties of this job description are explained, however, these will continue to evolve as the Trust develops to meet corporate objectives and NHS targets.

Person specification
Qualifications
Essential criteria- Educated to GCSE in English language and maths Grade A to C or equivalent
- Working towards management qualification
Experience
Essential criteria- Significant experience of working in a medical secretary role – NHS or private sector.
- Experience of staff supervision
Practical Skills
Essential criteria- Excellent working knowledge and use of IT systems used within the hospital eg. PAS, Maxims, Dragon Workflow Manager & other IT applications such as Microsoft Office
