Finance Officer

As a skilled and experienced Bookkeeper, you will be working within a small, collaborative finance team to manage a variety of financial and operational tasks. Reporting directly to the company Directors, your role will ensure accurate financial reporting and help streamline our accounting processes.

Responsibilities
 •  Processing payroll for employees in a timely and accurate manner
 •  Handling all aspects of payroll administration, including calculating wages, processing tax and pension deductions, and producing payslips
 •  Maintaining accurate and up-to-date payroll records
 •  Assisting with year-end financial processes and audits
 •  Handling employee queries regarding payroll or financial matters
 •  Processing and recording financial transactions, including accounts payable and receivable, invoices, and expenses
 •  Preparing and maintaining financial documents, such as balance sheets, profit and loss statements, and cash flow statements
 •  Monitoring financial transactions and ensuring compliance with company policies and procedures
 •  Performing bank reconciliations and resolving any discrepancies
 •  Assisting with budgeting and financial forecasting
 •  Conducting financial analysis and providing reports to management as needed
 •  Assisting with the preparation of financial statements and tax returns
 •  Keeping up-to-date with financial regulations and best practices

To excel in this role, you should have strong analytical skills, understand the importance of accuracy, and possess the ability to innovate; working both independently and as part of a team. You must have a firm understanding of financial principles and practices, and Sage experience is essential.

Requirements
 •  Minimum of 2 years Sage experience
 •  Demonstrated experience gained in a similar role
 •  Excellent attention to detail
 •  Strong organisational and time management skills
 •  Good understanding of payroll laws and regulations
 •  Ability to work independently and as part of a team
 •  Strong communication skills, both written and verbal
 •  Qualified or part-qualified in finance or accounting (e.g. AAT, ACCA) is preferred but not essential
