Elevation Senior Finance is currently looking to recruit a Head of Finance in Wakefield for a growing SME business. This is a fast-paced role that will form a crucial link between finance and the wider business. Producing the month-end results, whilst ensuring the board receives value-adding management reports which drive decision-making.

Key duties and responsibilities will include:

 •  Building strong working relationships throughout the organisation
 •  Leadership of the finance team, staff mentoring/ training/ personal development and building resilience through role-sharing and succession planning
 •  Continuous improvement of an effective control environment to manage financial, operational and business risks
 •  Monthly management reporting, providing insightful business performance analysis to the management team and Board
 •  Lead the business planning process, including annual budgeting and regular reiteration of projections, adopting a collaborative approach ensuring this accurately reflects operational assumptions and the group’s strategic objectives
 •  Cashflow management comprising short-term forecasting and longer-term projections
 •  Improve the communication and sharing of financial information across the group and its operational leaders
 •  Business partnering, attending operational meetings and working closely with senior management
 •  Maintain excellent relationships with external stakeholders
 •  Provide advice and guidance to colleagues and management teams
 •  Manage the annual statutory audit and corporation tax process for all group entities and the consolidation
 •  Liaising with key stakeholders/finance providers

The successful Head of Finance will need to be able to demonstrate the following skills and experiences:

 •  Qualified ACA /CIMA/ACCA
 •  Experience in leading, mentoring and developing a finance team
 •  A team player, leading by example, with the ability to bring out the best in others
 •  Excellent presentation skills
 •  Significant experience in management reporting and business planning in a group environment
 •  Detail-oriented as well as seeing the bigger picture
 •  Track record of managing and improving effective and controlled processes
 •  Experience in business systems reviews and implementation
 •  High energy levels, resilient, self-motivated, proactive
