Job Description
• Lead New Product Development (NPD) projects within the value stream, ensuring tasks are completed on schedule.
• Conduct machine design reviews to spot issues early, aiming for a "no-fault forward" approach.
• Optimize manufacturing processes to improve product quality and reduce cycle times where possible.
• Support equipment and tooling improvements using internal resources and external vendors.
• Use CAD to design tooling for process improvements.
• Follow milestone processes for NPD/Process Improvement projects and coordinate Engineering Sample Lots (ESL) and Manufacturing Sample Lots (MSL).
• Ensure all Engineering and New Product/Process development follow the "Quality Always" program, in collaboration with facility and corporate Quality teams, to comply with the Production Part Approval Process (PPAP).
• Manage and deliver engineering projects within designated value streams.
• Identify and define material and process productivity projects.
• Apply lean manufacturing concepts and the DMAIC process to drive improvements.
• Optimize plant layout, production lines, and machine operations to eliminate bottlenecks and improve value stream performance.
• Support the Total Productive Maintenance (TPM) program by implementing the 8 pillars in each value stream.
• Adhere to the 5S strategy.
The Successful Applicant
A successful Process Engineer should have:
• Six Sigma Green Belt desirable
• Strong written/verbal communication skills with the ability to produce Standard Operating Procedures and technical reports to required standard
• Strong IT skills including Word, Excel, PowerPoint and general engineering/manufacturing software such as CAD/CAM (Autodesk Fusion, Inventor, AutoCAD, Solidwors, CREO etc.)
• Excellent Problem Solver with a good understanding of Root Cause Analysis methodologies such as DMAIC, 8D, 5-Why etc.
• Good understanding of Design for Manufacture principles within injection moulding and ability to design and manufacture machine and assembly Jigs/Fixtures and associated tooling.
• Excellent understanding of Total Productive Maintenance principles
