Operational Planning Analyst

Purpose of the job:

The main purpose of the role is to support Operational Management in the identification and execution of short to long term plans to maximise operational effectiveness.
 •  Forecast FTE requirements for BAU operations, and scope additional FTE required for implementation of new services and time-bound projects.
 •  Responsible for producing long-term forecasts to assist with recruitment strategies & support financial forecasting processes.
 •  Work closely with operational teams to translate forecasts into actionable plans to optimise resource allocation to meet demand fluctuations efficiently.
 •  Support headcount forecast process aligned with business goals and objectives. Collaborate with finance team to integrate headcount forecasts into budget forecasts.

Key responsibilities:

 •  Build strong relationships with operational management and partners.
 •  Maintain headcount forecast tools, ensuring driver assumptions are regularly challenged & that they reflect SLAs with partners and operational KPIs.
 •  Undertaking analysis to scope new approaches to improve delivery performance within agreed headcount budget.
 •  Utilise cyclical performance reporting data to improve operational forecasts and highlight longer team cost risks and opportunities to operational management.
 •  Support continuous improvement initiatives by refining forecasts to enhance business process effectiveness and efficiency.

Person Specification
 •  Experience in forecasting & planning with a track record of success.
 •  Proficiency in planning analysis, modelling techniques, and data interpretation.
 •  Excellent verbal and written communication skills, adept at conveying complex data insights to diverse audiences.
 •  Good understanding of business operations, market dynamics, and industry trends to drive informed decision-making.

Skills required:

 •  Ability to plan and structure own workload.
 •  Good knowledge of utilities sector.
 •  Experience of Business Process Outsource Model.
 •  Ability to be able to analyse complex data including KPIs and performance.
 •  Flexible, willing, and able to cope with change with the ability to work under pressure.
 •  Ability to be able to influence stakeholders.
 •  Customer focused; can identify and respond to customer’s needs.
 •  Ability to coach people.
 •  Good problem-solving skills, able to grasp problems quickly and draw informed conclusions.
