Position: Team Support Manager - Mental Health Unit
Location: Southend on Sea
Salary: £27,816 per annum (inclusive of £350 Location Allowance), with subsequent salary progression up to £29,261 per annum
Hours: 37½ hours per week
Contract Type: Permanent (subject to a six-month probationary period)
Holiday: 25 days per annum, plus statutory Bank Holidays

Role Overview: Our Client is currently seeking a dedicated and experienced Team Manager to join the team in Southend on Sea. The role involves managing day-to-day service delivery, providing direct employment support to Service Users, and overseeing various operational aspects of the service.

Core Accountabilities:
  1.  Promote the service and manage all referrals, ensuring they meet service criteria.
  2.  Provide individual and group support sessions to enable Service Users to access suitable and sustainable work or learning opportunities.
  3.  Manage the quality and support provided to clients in line with the client`s Service Models and policies.
  4.  Deliver on contracts, including being the primary contact for Contract Managers.
  5.  Ensure accurate data entry into MI and reporting systems, adhering to quality assurance requirements.
  6.  Manage investigations arising from clients, prepare reports, and escalate issues as needed.
  7.  Manage the `risk load,` making recommendations and ensuring safe working practices.

Resource Management:
  8.  Line manage front-line staff, provide supervision, and ensure appropriate staffing levels.
  9.  Manage human resources according to the client`s policies and procedures.
 10.  Take responsibility for budget management and control expenditure within agreed limits.
 11.  Develop and implement training plans, ensuring staff receive necessary training and development opportunities.

General Accountabilities:
 12.  Ensure diversity and inclusion are adhered to within the service.
 13.  Maintain Health & Safety compliance and manage risk within the service.
 14.  Act as an expert lead on practice/services within the service as required.

Person Specification:
 •  Relevant professional social care qualification (e.g., CQSW, CIOH, RMN) or QCF in Health & Social Care.
 •  Significant understanding of Mental Health Issues and experience in housing and social care.
 •  Experience in managing a caseload of individuals with complex needs and managing budgets.
 •  Ability to lead, motivate, and supervise staff effectively.
 •  Strong communication skills, both verbal and written, with good investigation and problem-solving abilities.
 •  Outcome-driven, flexible attitude to working hours, and ability to participate in on-call arrangements.
