What you need to know about the role

We are currently looking for an Electrically Biased Maintenance Engineer to work across our site in Scunthorpe within the Central Cranes Maintenance team. The role will be responsible for the safe and efficient maintenance of assigned areas of Plant and Equipment.
They will formulate and deliver maintenance schedules, equipment availability requirements in conjunction with the manufacturing teams.

They will direct and supervise maintenance teams and contractors within their assigned area. They will lead and develop engineering performance in line with Company Asset Management Framework principles & available tools and techniques.
As an Electrical Maintenance Engineer, you will be responsible for upholding the Electrical standards and Performance within in an area of control. This will involve maintenance activities as well as breakdown and fault-finding aspects. The planning and execution of outage periods will also be a key responsibility.
This involves working with internal and external support functions and companies to ensure critical maintenance /overhauls and or improvement projects are effectively executed. This position comes with the responsibility of managing team leaders & craft of which you will be expected to help, guide and develop where required.

What we need to know about you

The job holder will be ideally educated to degree level in a relevant engineering discipline or be an experienced time served craftsman with a relevant qualification, with a proven track record including supervision and management of engineering teams and principally overhead cranes

Experience with control systems, VSD’s, remote control systems and magnet controls plus SAP PM preferred. Qualified to 18th edition would be advantageous. A wide knowledge of different electrical motor types is desirable.
You are required to be technically proficient engineers with PC skills and proven leadership capability. The ability to understand and deliver technically proficient engineering working in conjunction with the operational teams directing and supervising British Steel personnel and relevant contractors to deliver safe, efficient and timely work execution is essential.

The jobholder must be highly motivated, a good communicator with high level of team skills and be capable of delivering the full range of the Company Asset Management Framework tool set.
