Manpower Cambridge are looking for a Fabricator for a family business in Thetford.
As a Fabricator, your primary role will contain the following responsibilities Carrying out fabricator production activities:
• Fabricate fenestration components, including windows, doors, curtain walls, and glass facades, according to technical drawings, blueprints, and specifications.
• Operate and maintain various fabrication machinery and equipment, such as CNC machines, glass cutters, saws, and routers.
• Perform cutting, milling, drilling, punching, and welding activities to shape and assemble fenestration profiles.
• Ensure accurate measurements, cuts, and fitting during the fabrication process.
• Select and handle materials, including aluminium, UPVC, and composite profiles, as well as glass units.
• Install glass units, weather seals, hardware, and other components into the fabricated fenestration systems.
• Understand and implement different glazing methods, such as single glazing, double glazing, and structural glazing.
• Ensure proper alignment, air tightness, and weatherproofing of the installed fenestration systems.
• Conduct quality control inspections to verify the accuracy of fabrication, assembly, and glazing.
• Comply with health and safety regulations and guidelines within the fabrication workshop.
• Collaborate with colleagues from different departments, including designers, engineers, and installation teams.
Skills & Experience
• Ideally minimum of 2 years experience working as a Fabricator in a glazing fabrication environment.
• Knowledge of fenestration systems, including windows, doors, curtain walls, and glass facades.
• Proficiency in operating various fabrication machinery and equipment, such as CNC machines, glass cutters, saws, and routers.
• Experience in fabricating and assembling aluminium, UPVC, and composite fenestration systems.
• Ability to read and interpret technical drawings, blueprints, and specifications accurately.
• Strong attention to detail and ability to work with precision.
• Problem-solving skills to identify and resolve fabrication issues.
• Commitment to adhering to safety protocols and maintaining a safe working environment.
• Excellent teamwork and communication skills.
• UK Driving license
The successful candidate will be entitled to annual bonus and will be available to work Monday - Friday.
