Our client is seeking a talented professional to join their team of Chartered Professionals.

Established in January 2001, our client is a leading multi-disciplinary practice providing professional consultancy services to a diverse range of public and private sector clients. With a focus on conversion, extensions, and new builds across the North East of England and Southern Scotland, they pride themselves on delivering high standards and individual attention to all their clients.

As the head of their small architectural section, you'll play a crucial role in leading and managing a small team of architects, technicians, and engineers. You'll bring your extensive experience in residential, leisure, and commercial property to the table, working on multiple projects simultaneously and demonstrating a strong knowledge of construction and building defects.

Alongside architectural design, the role will involve other aspects of construction consultancy, including survey/inspection, specification, contract administration, and project management. Competency in Principle Designer under CDM regulations will also be beneficial.

To thrive in this role, you will meet the following criteria

Extensive experience and knowledge of different property types and associated defects
Self-confidence and the ability to work unsupervised
Practical approach to buildability and on-site problem-solving
Strong diagnostic skills for engineering and building defects
Effective communication and report writing skills
Proficiency in Revit and the production of parametric families
What will your role look like?

Building surveying and defect diagnosis
Managing a small team of architects/technicians/engineers
Architectural design and preparation of Revit and CAD drawings (Revit preferred)
Production of Revit parametric families
Preparation of traditional tender documents
Managing client/business relationships
Undertaking site visits and attending project meetings
Supervising and managing third-party contractors
Handling insurance work
Managing the architectural portion of the website
Managing the development of software, hardware, and documentation to meet industry demands
